Evaluations

Before starting online physical therapy, we take time to learn about your child. We always interview parents first because we know that you are the experts on your child, and we value your insight. We may also schedule an observation, review previous evaluation reports or IEPs, and complete a formal or informal assessment. This process allows us to learn about your child’s interests, strengths, and areas of need. Once the evaluation is complete, we will meet with you to develop an individualized therapy plan for your child. During the results meeting, we will:

  • Explain assessment scores

  • Develop meaningful goals

  • Ensure that our plan reflects your family’s values

  • Make clinical recommendations for the next step

  • Schedule therapy sessions if needed

Our Therapy Approach

At the core, our therapy approach is based on meaningful relationships and parental collaboration. We may be the experts in phsyical therapy, but you are the experts on your child, so we will listen and problem-solve together. Physical therapy sessions are tailored to your child's needs, and we will always prioritize goals that are important to your family. We help your child become more independent and confident by building their skills through personalized physical therapy sessions. Our goal is to empower your child to engage with the world around them and have a brighter future. Physical therapy sessions may include:

  • Child-led and play-based activities

  • Functional movement practice for daily routines

  • Reflective coaching for parents

  • Interactive games and personally motivating activities

  • Fun videos that focus on targeted goals

Early Intervention & Parent Coaching

Our approach to early intervention physical therapy is child and family-led, which means that your therapist will work collaboratively with you and your child to identify their unique needs and goals for therapy. Your physical therapist will take into account your child's interests and strengths, as well as your family's values and culture, to develop a therapy plan that leads to meaningful skill development.

During your child's online physical therapy sessions, your PT will actively involve your child in games, movement activities, and interactive learning.

Your therapist will also regularly check in with your family to address concerns and provide education and support on how to promote your child's development at home. Early intervention physical therapy services target and improve a child's physical abilities to improve:

  • Gross motor skills

  • Strength and mobility

  • Balance and coordination

  • Better overall physical function.

Gross Motor & Developmental Delays

Physical therapy services for gross motor delays will help young children improve their overall physical abilities and reach their developmental milestones.

In a typical session, your physical therapist may engage your child in a variety of fun and interactive activities that help to build strength, improve mobility, and enhance overall physical function. This may include playing with toys and games, practicing crawling or walking, and working on balance and coordination skills.

Our services are appropriate for young children who are experiencing gross motor delays, such as difficulty with crawling, standing, walking, and other physical activities. Our goal is to help children achieve their full potential and improve their quality of life by enabling them to better participate in daily activities, engage in social situations, and enjoy recreational activities.

Through our early intervention physical therapy services, we aim to help children develop foundational skills and improve their overall physical abilities, which can have long-term benefits and set them up for success in the future.

Torticollis and Plagiocephaly

Physical therapy for Torticollis and Plagiocephaly helps improve your child's neck mobility, reduces head asymmetry, and helps them reach their full physical potential. This service is for infants and children who have been diagnosed with Torticollis and/or Plagiocephaly.

In a typical therapy session, our physical therapist will assess your child's neck mobility and head shape and develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment may include a variety of activities and exercises, such as neck stretches, tummy time, and positioning techniques, aimed at improving head control, neck mobility, and overall physical function.

Our therapy sessions are tailored to each child's individual needs and goals and may include activities to help with the following:

  • Strengthening and stretching the affected muscles

  • Promoting age-appropriate head and neck movements

  • Improving overall head and body alignment.

We use a combination of hands-on techniques, exercises, and parent education to achieve the best outcomes for your child. Our approach is collaborative and family-centered, meaning we work closely with you to develop a customized plan that fits your child's unique situation and your family's needs. Our ultimate goal is to help your child achieve optimal physical development and function, so they can reach their full potential and thrive.
